Outlast pretty much scared the crap out of E3 and PAX attendees this year. The terrifying survival horror game even caused one demo player to faint at E3, according to the email that accompanied today’s news.
I know I won’t be playing it because I’m a giant scaredy cat. Good gravy, if someone actually fainted while playing, I’d probably die on the spot. Just…dead.
The only thing that would keep me alive is the price point for Outlast. This title will hit the PC on Steam on September 4th, 2013. It’s gonna sell for $19.99.
Curious about Outlast? Here’s how the game is described in press releases.
In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the “research and charity” branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy…until now.
Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.
Have we piqued your curiosity? The terrifying tale is likely too much for me, I won’t lie, but is this something you’ll take a crack at?
