Apple on Wednesday seeded the third beta of OS X 10.11.1, the first update that consumers will likely see to OS X 10.11, otherwise known as El Capitan.

We learned in the first beta release that the focus here is going to be on improving stability and performance of El Capitan, and MacRumors adds that it will include new Emoji, which are also included in the iOS 9.1 betas, and other minor changes. Otherwise, there hasn’t been any real indication that this is any form of “major update.”

No word yet on when Apple plans to release it to consumers, but it’s clearly moving steadily along through the beta process. Developers should be able to find it available as an update now.
