oppo n3 teaser

Just yesterday Oppo offered a first official look at the updated camera on its upcoming N3 handset, and now the company has revealed what the new rotating camera phone will be capable of when it launches later this month. The Chinese phone-maker took to Weibo on Tuesday to tease an upgraded 16-megapixel shooter with a 1/2.3-inch sensor.

Based on yesterday’s teaser, we’re expecting the Oppo N3 to look pretty similar to last year’s N1, which featured a 13-megapixel rotating camera. The camera design has changed slightly with the addition of what looks like faux-leather plastic and a consolidated dual LED flash module. The teaser image above also compares the N3’s sensor size to the Galaxy S5, the Note 4, the HTC One (M8) and the iPhone 6.

The new smartphone is expected to offer the same 5.9-inch 1080p display found on the Oppo N1, though it may pack an upgraded Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM under the hood. Meanwhile, the design is said to feature “space-grade” metal with stainless steel and aluminum options, and rumor has it you’ll also get to pick between white, pink and cyan colors.

The Oppo N3 unveil is set for Oct. 29, though the company clearly doesn’t mind spilling the details of its own device ahead of time. With two weeks left before the big announcement, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Oppo reveal even more about the upcoming handset.
