Already, there’s a software update rolling out to the new OnePlus 6T. The system-level upgrade includes various improvements throughout the user interface and its apps. It’s the first software update for OnePlus’ latest flagship, which was announced earlier in the week and gets released next week.
Here’s the entire changelog, courtesy of GSMArena:
System
– Improved Screen Unlock
– Brand new navigation gestures
– Optimized standby power consumption
– Updated Android security patch to 2018.11 – General bug fixes and improvementsCamera
– Improvements for Nightscape – Added Studio Lighting to enhance face contour
It’ll usher in more gesture-based navigation options, an improvement to the in-display fingerprint scanner, photography enhancements, and more. OnePlus threw in the latest Android security patch level, too. Mind you, Google’s own Pixel phones haven’t even gotten that yet. So there’s quick work being done by OnePlus’ software engineers.
The software update, labeled as OxygenOS 9.0.4, will be live on all devices as shipments go out over the weekend.
OnePlus will continue rolling out software updates to the OnePlus 6T for at least three years. The brand would like to maintain system-level upgrades for two years and add an extra year for security maintenance.
When the OnePlus 6T arrives at TechnoBuffalo, we’ll be sure to share our experience with you. It has many specifications like more expensive flagships, but the OnePlus 6T comes in at $549. That’s an incredible value on paper, so let’s see how it shapes up in reality.
