Today, the OnePlus 6 was officially announced. Given the myriad of leaks that have surfaced over the past couple weeks, it was a bit anticlimactic but that still didn’t wear off any of the shine off OnePlus’ newest phone. The OnePlus 6 is a stunner and every bit the worthy successor to the OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus took a drastic departure from its previous design language found in the OnePlus 5T. Gone is the all-aluminum unibody, and in its place is a design of glass and metal. Along the way, minor updates were done to the layout of the phone. The dual camera was moved from the top left hand corner to the center of the display, right above the fingerprint scanner.
The biggest change came with the display. Instead of a 6-inch display with minor bezels at the top and bottom on the OnePlus 5T, the OnePlus 6 joined the notch club with a 6.2-inch display. It looks great, but if you’re not a fan of the notch, it probably won’t connect with you.
Beyond that, OnePlus also packed in top-end specs that should make Android run buttery smooth. The latest Snapdragon 845 processor is coupled with a market-leading 8GB of RAM, as well as a beastly 3,300mAh battery.
The changes in the OnePlus 6 are welcomed and an obvious upgrade over the OnePlus 5T. You can check out how the two stack up against each other in the spec breakdown below.
