OnePlus was never going to take down Apple or even ascend to the lofty heights reached by the iPhone. But damned if the company doesn’t try. OnePlus’ latest challenger is the excellent OnePlus 5T, which features some beastly specs and an expansive 6-inch display.
There’s no denying OnePlus has taken its fair share of inspiration from its Cupertino contemporary. The OnePlus 5 looked almost identical to the iPhone 7 Plus, while the OnePlus 5T arrives with a facial recognition feature, which riffs on the iPhone X’s Face ID.
Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Seeing new features arrive with the OnePlus 5T means consumers get a better experience. OnePlus has done a great job over the past few years refining its hardware and software to create one of the most enjoyable Android lineups.
Obviously, the big difference here is price. The iPhone X retails for a whopping $999, while the OnePlus 5T is just $499. That’s a massive difference, especially heading into the busy holiday period.
