OnePlus made a statement with the OnePlus 5. Inside a beautiful aluminum body is a Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB of RAM, 3,300mAh battery, 128GB of storage and dual camera (16MP main camera, 20MP telephoto camera). OnePlus made a point of including features customers have asked for like a headphone jack, mute switch and much-improved camera.
The G6 was the first major flagship device to be released this year. LG pulled out all the stops with a brand new redesign over the modular G5. The G6 instead is all display, metal and glass in one insanely durable frame. Its specs aren’t too shabby either. It sports a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, dual 13MP camera, 32GB of storage with MicroSD expandability and a 3,300mAh battery. In our initial testing of the G6, we gave it a glowing review. It’s a great phone.
From the outset, one area the G6 tops the OnePlus 5 is with its reduced bezels. This is a key downfall for OnePlus as the display is something potential customers can see right away. It may not be out of the realm of possibility to assume this is the reason why OnePlus did away with a white version as it shows off the big bezels that much more. But that head-to-head battle is much bigger than just display comparisons.
