Responding to a comment over on Weibo, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will feature a front-facing fingerprint scanner, leading us to believe the handset will use a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio, as opposed to a taller form factor, like the one Samsung adopted for the Galaxy S8.

That's pretty much all we know for certain about the OnePlus 5 (other than its name, of course). Recently, an abundance of suspicious renders and hands-on images surfaced online, all suggesting that the handset will ship with a dual-pixel rear-facing camera setup — but that's far from confirmed.

The OnePlus 5 could come with a Full HD display

Other purported specifications include a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 6GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 835 octa-core CPU and a 3,600mAh non-removable battery, which is said to be capable of charging up to 25 percent faster than the firm's current flagship, the OnePlus 3T.
