OnePlus 3 owners couldn’t wait to get hold of the latest OxygenOS update when it rolled out earlier this month, but many are regretting it right now. Users are reporting significant battery drain almost two weeks after installing the release.

OxygenOS 3.2.1 — which arrived after a botched OxygenOS 3.2.0 update — was a pretty significant upgrade for the OnePlus 3, adding an sRGB display mode and a whole host of improvements for things like GPS, camera performance, audio quality, and more.

But it isn’t all good news. PhoneArena reports that it is now “experiencing a battery drain of around 1% every 4 minutes, even when the phone is idling.” Using the device makes the battery drain even faster — as you might expect — and uninstalling apps like Facebook don’t help.

“The end result is that you have to charge the phone up to three times a day, and using it has become a little exercise in frustration,” the report adds. Users on the OnePlus 3 forums echo the same complaint, but it seems not every user has been affected by the issue.

It’s not totally clear what is causing this problem, then. If it was a software bug, you would think all OnePlus 3 owners would be experiencing it after installing OxygenOS 3.2.1. But maybe it’s a bug that only reacts to certain third-party apps.
