Atlus has confirmed that Odin Sphere: Leifdrasir, the recently announced PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita HD remaster, will be localized and released in North America. Fans will be able to snag it up in early 2016.

You know, this release is perfect just in case you haven’t picked up the PlayStation 2 Classics version of Odin Sphere one of the several thousand times it has gone on sale for $5 over the past few years. This newer version adds more to the game than just a cosmetic makeover. Atlus and VanillaWare will be overhauling the game’s combat and turning it into a more enjoyable experience with a few tweaks and additions.

VanillaWare has already given a similar HD treatment to Odin Sphere’s follow-up game, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and its PS Vita version walked away with a more satisfied fanbase. History shows that VanillaWare knows how to revamp a game the second time around, and admittedly, Odin Sphere is a much better game than Muramasa as well.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir will also be getting both a physical and digital release, so naturally you can expect  box full of goodies from Atlus if you buy it from the first wave. The game will be released on Jan. 14 in Japan, and the English version will hit our shores a little later in the year.
