The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time is one of the most iconic video games in history, making its iconic Temple of Time one of the most iconic settings gaming history. It's iconic, alright?
For years, we've only seen it portrayed through the ugly blocky polygons allowed by the Nintendo 64's incredibly limited 3D technology, but Vimeo user Michael Eurek has gone ahead and shined a whole new light on it using the Unreal Engine 4.
His results are gorgeous and downright accurate to the three Spiritual Stones on the alter and the hidden path leading to the Master Sword. The orchestrated familiar song playing in the background doesn't fail to bring the necessary atmosphere either.
Eurek claimed that it took him several months to make after a friend suggested "that a fun/challenging exercise would be to recreate an environment from an old game I like using modern techniques."
While I doubt that Nintendo will ever officially acknowledge Eurek's amazing work, you have to wonder how it is going to try to match up on the Wii U. If anything, this video has me incredibly excited for a new Legend of Zelda game in full HD, and I can only hope that Eiji Aonuma and his team at Nintendo can create something with such reverence.
