If you’re anxious to try out iOS 12 before it launches this fall, you can install it on your device today. Apple on Monday released iOs 12’s first public beta, which you can download from the company’s website.
To download the software, you’ll need to enroll your device. Once you’ve done that, you can download iOS 12 for your iPhone and iPad, as well as pre-release software for the Mac and Apple TV. Anyone with a valid Apple ID can sign up.
Downloading the public beta of iOS 12 will give you access to features like grouped notifications and Memoji, among other features. Apple has already released developer betas for iOS 12, and so far there haven’t been any glaring problems.
That being said, you should always proceed with caution when installing beta software on your device. Apple recommends you back up your phone before proceeding with the latest beta.
Apple is expected to roll out the finished version of iOS 12 this fall.
