The latest Android distribution figures are in. As you’d expect, they show a steady increase in Nougat adoption — Android 7.0 and Android 7.1 — with the total number of people using the flavor climbing an impressive 2.4 percent from last month.

It’s been a long time coming, but Marshmallow is now the most-used version of Android. It has a total adoption rate of 31.2 percent. The last time the data was recorded, Lollipop was in the lead with a share of 32 percent, which has dropped down to 30.8 percent.

These figures don’t account for all Android-powered devices

As we’ve said in the past, these numbers don’t account for all Android-powered devices. The data is collected by recording the OS a unit was running when it accessed the Play Store over a 7-day period; if a user didn’t download an app, their handset won’t be included.
