On April 25, Microsoft will start rolling out the much-anticipated Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update. However, only a small subset of Windows-powered smartphones will receive it, reports ZDNet.

"As has been the case with previous Windows updates, a device may not be able to receive the Creators Update if the device hardware is incompatible, lacking current drivers, or otherwise outside of the Original Equipment Manufacturer's support period," said the firm.

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until Microsoft refreshes its Product Lifecycle page to know what handsets are compatible. In the meantime, ZDNet's put together a list of smartphones it expects will receive the Creators Update.

This news isn't exactlysurprising

When you take into account that not every Lumia handset received the Windows 10 upgrade last year, this news isn't exactly surprising. That doesn't mean it won't come as a shock to those who aren't on the receiving end, though.
