Nokia caught us by surprise this morning with the news that a big surprise is coming on June 24. The company posted a countdown clock on its Conversations blog earlier today, suggesting we could see a new device announced next week. So what will Microsoft-Nokia announce?

The teaser on Nokia’s blog doesn’t reveal much, but a Chinese version of the same invite uncovered by LiveSino reveals what looks like an “X” along with the June 24 date, suggesting this could be the rumored Nokia X2. The company’s original Android-powered smartphone was apparently a big hit in China, so perhaps a follow-up is in order.

The X2 is rumored to offer a 4.3-inch 800 x 480-pixel display, a Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a 5-megapixel camera. It’s also expected to run the same modified Android UI that was introduced on the Nokia X.

Of course there’s still no official confirmation that Nokia will announce the Nokia X2 next week, and you’ll have to check back in on Tuesday to find out for sure.
