The latest Nokia-branded phones could debut this summer.
A duo of yet-to-be-announced products from HMD Global have been spotted in Russia. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) gave its approval for phones with the model numbers TA-1087 and TA-1119, but neither of them have appeared in any other leaks. So what exactly those model numbers represent is largely unknown.
HMD Global is rumored to be working on the Nokia 9, and there’s some chatter that a Nokia 5.1 Plus is in development as well. There’s just no word on the model numbers for them.
When a product shows up at the EEC, the details are usually made official within weeks. Both phones could be brought to Berlin for IFA 2018 in late August. Then again, the two model numbers could belong to phones that HMD Global will release in China or a handful of Asian countries.
As usual, we’ll have to wait and see what HMD Global actually announces. The global licensee for Nokia-branded hardware has been focusing on mid-range and entry-level devices; therefore, don’t be surprised if these phones turn out to be average with their specifications.
