Nokia's really taking a hard stand on improving its Maps application for Windows Phone. The company first updated Nokia Maps in March with a favorites feature, and then again in June with sync support for favorites and the ability to view photos and reviews from friends. Nokia issued yet another update on Wednesday, bringing Maps to version 2.5, which includes Groupon integration and the ability to plan travel routes.

We're pretty impressed with how much time and effort Nokia is putting into its Lumia-specific software, but it's also a sign that Microsoft and Nokia are continuing to work closely to deliver the best mapping application possible when Windows Phone 8 launches this fall. The update is free and should be available from the Windows Phone Marketplace on Lumia-branded devices now.
