Nokia Lumia 900

Nokia has announced that three of its Windows Phone devices will be receiving firmware updates, but it's unclear as to when exactly it will happen.

On the Nokia Connects blog this weekend, the Finnish phone makker announced that Lumia models 610, 710 and 900 will all be receiving software updates, but oddly missing from the line up was any mention of the 800.  Also absent was any sort of roll out date.  What you can expect for each – once you get the pop-up notice, that is – was listed as the following:

  • Lumia 900 version 2175.2101.8779.12201: Enhanced sensitivity for proximity sensor performance and improvement to your phone's screen colours in low light conditions.
  • Lumia 710 version 1600.3031.8779.12180: Internet sharing (Wi-Fi Hotspot) — Share your phone's internet connection over Wi-Fi with up to five other devices or computers and Flip to silence — Silence incoming calls by turning your phone face down.
  • Lumia 610 version 1066.0000.8779.12201: Enhanced sensitivity for proximity sensor performance and improved sound level for alarm tone during voice calls.

There is also no word as to whether or not all carriers will receive the updates at the same time.  All of the updates seem nice improvements, and definitely something phone owners will want to get their hands on, so hopefully no one will have to wait too long.
