Grab your Nintendo Switch and download the latest update, because the software introduces several new features you’re going to love.

First and foremost, the update adds a feature that allows users to transfer their save data, though there are a lot of hoops to jump through in order to perform the data transfer. Nintendo has a helpful tutorial on its website on how to do it, which requires a source console and target console, along with software version 4.0.0 and higher.

It seems a little more complex than it needs to be—life would be much easier if users could copy their save to an SD card and transfer data that way. But Nintendo apparently has its reasons.

The other major part of the Switch update adds the ability to capture video on select games. (Select games being the operative words in this scenario.)

Nintendo says users can now press and hold the Capture Button on the console to capture the previous 30 seconds of gameplay. Users can then trim the beginning and end of each clip, where the footage can be shared on Facebook or Twitter.

Unfortunately, the video capture feature is capped at 30 seconds and only works with a handful of titles, including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Hopefully, Nintendo will expand the feature to other titles and allow users to capture longer stretches of gameplay.

The update also adds a revamped news channel, gaming icons, and the ability to pre-load games before they launch.
