Nintendo has had another big software holiday season in its home country of Japan. Does the news shock anybody anymore?
Famitsu has revealed the ten best selling games of Japan’s holiday season, eight of which appear on a Nintendo platform. So what are the games which blocked Nintendo’s flawless victory? None other than Final Fantasy X|X2 HD Remaster, of which both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 versions cracked the top ten list.
Just for quick reference, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII did not make the list, getting beat out by a port of a thirteen year old video game.
As for the Nintendo games, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds took the top spot selling 225,418 units. Nintendo’s first party software also includes Pokémon X and Y, Wii Party U, New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario 3D World, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Of course, Monster Hunter 4 also crashed the party, and Puzzle & Dragons Z made its Nintendo debut at the second place mark with 198,968 sold. Check out the entire list below.
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds — 225,418 (3DS)
