A new Nintendo Direct presentation has been scheduled this coming Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 10:00 AM EST/7:oo AM PT, as confirmed on the company’s official Twitter page. The Direct presentation will focus solely on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and it will even feature Director Masahiro Sakurai delivering the information.
This will be the first time Nintendo has discussed the game since it was first revealed at E3 2018 this past June. During the reveal, Nintendo confirmed that every character who has ever appeared in a Super Smash Bros. game will have a spot in the roster, and several new characters, including Metroid’s Ridley, will be controllable by players.
If we’re back to wondering which characters will appear, that’s all fine, but with at least 60 characters already confirmed, I would much rather hear about new mechanics and ways to help distinguish this Super Smash Bros. apart from previous entries.
We’ll find out more on Wednesday. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be released for the Nintendo Switch on Dec. 7.
