Nintendo has announced a brand new handheld, the Nintendo 2DS. No, I’m not kidding.
According to the release that brought news of this brand new handheld from Nintendo, the 2DS will cost $129.99 and it will ship on October 12th. That, of course, is the same day that Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will launch. If you think that’s a coincidence, you’re crazy.
The Nintendo 2DS is essentially a remodelled 3DS without the 3D function. Which, hey, I don’t use at all. Perhaps the only real negative that can be said for the system is its less than stellar design. Nintendo decided to ditch the clamshell function for their handheld with this, and the 2DS looks awkward because of that.
Unless, of course, the system is much more pleasant to use in person than it appears.
We’ll have more on this new device as it comes.
