Nintendo earned its reputation for creating durable hardware a long time ago, all except for the DS Lite’s flimsy shoulder buttons. I still can’t get over that one! However, the Switch’s lasting power is just plain ridiculous as proven by the most extreme drop test you’ll ever see.
YouTube channel UnlockRiver performed the drop test at a staggering height of 1,000 feet. It designed a drone to hover the Switch above a concrete parking lot and release it via remote control.
The impact all but destroys the blue Joy-Con, but the main console works like it was taken right out of the box.
Just a reminder… don’t try this at home. Your Switch might be safe, but any unfortunate people below might not be.
