Nexus fans on America’s leading GSM carrier finally get their due today: Best Buy / Best Buy Mobile have opened pre-orders for the AT&T-compatible version of the Nexus S. Selling for $99.99 (on contract), the device will be available on shelves beginning July 24th.

For the uninitiated, the Nexus S is a well-respected handset in a crowded field of Android smartphones. It may not sit at the very top of the list when it comes to specs these days, but it still holds court as a true Google Experience phone that features solid hardware and an enviable software position of being first for updates. It features Android (Gingerbread), a 1GHz processor, 4-inch Super AMOLED Contour display, and dual cameras (5 MP rear, VGA cam in front).
