Google has always made a show of offering the Nexus line of smartphones at a budget-friendly off-contract price tag, but the highly-anticipated Nexus 5 may see a noticeable jump in cost compared to the current model. Android Geeks reports that the stock Android handset will cost $399 at launch, citing an anonymous insider.

The tipster claims Google will price its new smartphone at $399 with 16GB of storage and $449 for a 32GB model, as part of a multi-phone offering that includes a new LTE-enabled Nexus 4 for $100 less than the Nexus 5.

Google is expected unveil the Nexus 5 at a special event this month alongside Android 4.4 KitKat. Based on numerous leaks, the redesigned smartphone will feature a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel secondary shooter and NFC.
