Tony Hawk Pro Skater

When Activision confirmed statements that Tony Hawk would be returning to the video game world after years of silence, many wondered as to what kind of a return they should expect. Hawk has a few new details now, and those looking for his new game to jump on to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One might be a little disappointed.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Hawk has now confirmed that his latest game with Activision will be a mobile exclusive game.

We're working on a mobile game now. We're working on a game for mobile devices this year. We've never gone exclusively in that direction so I'm excited because, with the amount of time people are spending on their phones and their tablets playing games, we've never had our own game in that space, so I'm excited to provide one finally.

Sounds like a good decision for him. The outright rejection of his last few console games doesn't especially show an excited market there anymore. Even a nostalgia trip into Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD barely landed on anybody's radar. All I can think of are the finger skateboards I used to play with. Are those still popular with the kids these days?

Hawk provided no extra explanation about his game such as how touch controls will work. Seeing as how it is a mobile game, your plastic skateboard used to control Ride or Shred will most likely continue to collect dust under the piles and piles of plastic guitars, plastic bongos, and the Super Scope 6 in the back of your closet.
