Every year, Apple holds an event in September to announce new iPhones along with a few other new products. Apple has yet to reveal a date for an event this year, but we may now know when pre-orders for the new iPhones will go live.
According to a new report from Macerkopf, sources within a German carrier have confirmed that Apple will open pre-orders for its new iPhones on September 14.
The report went on to elaborate that following pre-orders on September 14, the new iPhones will ship out to customers the following Friday, which is September 21.
This is an unconfirmed report, but the date makes a lot of sense. Apple is a creature of habit when it comes to release dates. Its held its iPhone event during the second week of September for the past six years, followed shortly by a pre-order date. In 2018, customers were able to pre-order the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus on September 14.
Apple is expected to send out invites for the iPhone event in the coming weeks where it’s expected to unveil three new iPhone models. It will not, however, confirm the pre-order date until the event itself so we’re still a ways off from validating this newest report.
