AT&T on Wednesday said that it has activated its fast 4G LTE network in sixteen new markets, the start of more than 79 additional U.S. markets it plans to bring online this summer.

The new cities include Asheville and Goldsboro, North Carolina; Casa Grande, Arizona; Culpepper, Fredericksburg and Roanoke, Virginia; Dover, Delaware; Leonardtown, Prince Frederick, Calvert County and Ocean City, Maryland; Linglestown, Pennsylvania; Longview, Port Townsend-North Whidbey Island, Camano Island and Shelton, Washington; Salem, Oregon; and Schenectady, New York.

AT&T is rapidly expanding its 4G LTE footprint and most recently activated coverage in 20 new markets earlier this month. AT&T offers the second largest 4G LTE network behind Verizon Wireless, though a recent study found that AT&T's speeds are the fastest.
