Netflix on Windows Phone

The official Netflix app for Windows Phone 7 has finally made its debut in the U.K. today, allowing subscribers to stream movies and TV shows to their smartphone while they’re on the go.

You may not see it on your device right away because it will take a little while to rollout to all users. According to a Netflix spokeswoman, it will take up to 48 hours to reach all devices:

“We have pushed the App to the Windows Phone Marketplace. Actual availability for each and every user can take up to 48 hours according to Microsoft… so on its way imminently.”

Netflix made its first appearance on Windows Phone in the U.S. last year, but according to Pocket-lint, its U.K. launch was delayed “due to technical differences in the way Netflix delivered films on its service in the US and around the world.” We have no idea what that really means, but we’re glad it’s finally here.

The app itself is free to download. But of course, you’ll need a Netflix subscription at £6 (approx. $9.56) a month to enjoy its content. If you’re a new customer, you can get your hands on a free 30-day trial to test the service before you commit.

Are you pleased that Netflix is finally available on Windows Phone in the U.K.?
