No, the images you see above aren’t stills from the next Michael Bay movie. They’re actually from a failed resupply mission from last year, which saw the Antares rocket burn up shortly after takeoff.

Late last year, the rocket erupted into the night sky as part of a resupply mission to the International Space Station. But the spacecraft exploded only fifteen seconds after takeoff, engulfing more than 5,000 pounds of cargo in flames. It was a catastrophe in every sense of the word, and although there were no injuries, the incident caused millions of dollars in damage. According to NASA, an explosion in the rocket’s main engine system contributed to the disaster.
