When unveiling the new super sized iPhone XS Max, Apple wasted no time gushing about the huge 6.5-inch Super Retina display, the biggest display ever in an iPhone. It’s also the best on the market, according to DisplayMate.

DisplayMate has crowned the iPhone XS Max to have the best display of any smartphone, including Samsung’s impressive Galaxy Note 9.

Apple managed to improved upon the iPhone X’s already remarkable display by adding what it calls Diamond Sub-Pixels that sharpen content depending on the angle, increasing peak brightness (660 nits) and color accuracy on a display that is 22-percent bigger. DisplayMate says this leads to much better viewing angles while making the overall experience of the display more enjoyable, with Apple’s True Tone technology balancing out the peak brightness and shifting.

DisplayMate also touted the iPhone XS Max’s market-leading 4.7-percent screen reflectance, near the lowest that it has ever measured on a smartphone.

Overall, DisplayMate gave the iPhone XS Max the highest ever A+ rating, topping Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 for the best smartphone display on the market.
