Motorola Atrix HD

Motorola has unveiled the brand new Motorola Atrix HD on its website this morning. The 4.5-inch device boasts a strong Kevlar body which promises to be splash-resistant "inside and out," a high-definition ColorBoost display, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Atrix HD is powered by a 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. It's 4.5-inch ColorBoost display is capable of producing a 720 x 1280 resolution, which is perfect for showing off the photos you take on its 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. The device also packs a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a microSD card slot for expanding your storage, and a 1,780 mAh battery to keep you going.

All of that is packed into a sleek, 8.4mm frame, which sports a super strong Kevlar backplate. The handset weighs just 140 grams.

Like its predecessors, the Atrix HD's party trick comes when you plug it into the Motorola LapDock and transform it into an Android-powered notebook. It also comes with Motorola's nifty "SMARTACTIONS" feature pre-installed:

MOTOROLA ATRIX HD is a mindful smartphone, with a fully-integrated, free SMARTACTIONS™ app that intelligently automates the routine and suggests ways to personalize your phone – and make your life easier. Say, you're driving. SMARTACTIONS will suggest the Drive Smart rule. If accepted, it sets the phone to auto-reply to calls and texts and enables hands-free conversations.

Motorola hasn't revealed the Atrix HD's price tag or release date just yet, but if you're in the United States, you can register your interest now via the company's website.
