Motorola is holding a press conference in London tomorrow, May 13, and so far we're expecting the super low cost Moto E to make its debut. The company bolstered our expectations on Monday when it tweeted #GoodbyeFlipPhone #May13 on Twitter. Most of us in developed markets ditched flip phones for smartphones years ago, except maybe this guy, but what about the rest of the world?
That's where Motorola's tweet makes a bit more sense. The #GoodbyeFlipPhone hint suggests that this is yet another low cost device, perhaps even cheaper than the Moto G, that will allow even more people around the world to ditch older flip phones for more powerful smartphone devices.
No, this probably won't be anything close to a flagship, but offering Android to emerging smartphone markets means even more people can be connected with a truly mobile web and the important apps that come along with it, like full versions of Google Maps, Twitter for connecting with the rest of the world, and more.
Motorola's press conference kicks off at about 9:00 a.m. local time in London where we expect to hear the final details on its next smartphone. We'll be bringing you a hands-on at some point tomorrow with whatever is announced, but in the meantime be sure to check out the photos of the Moto E that spilled out this weekend.
