Motorola Razr and Razr Maxx users in Europe will start the week of with a long-awaited update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The release is now be rolling out to "select" devices.

It's unclear what "select" devices actually means. But if the U.S. update is anything to go by, it could be that a relatively small number of users get the release first to ensure there are no issues, and then it will rollout to everyone.

The U.S. update landed in June, but it didn't make it to other countries because Motorola discovered some "issues" that needed addressing. The news was a huge frustration to Razr and Razr Maxx owners, especially considering Motorola is now owned by Google, and that it shouldn't be too difficult for "issues" to be rectified.

We're assuming that the problems Motorola found back in June have now been sorted, so the European rollout should be a little smoother. Be sure to let us know when you get yours.
