Not convinced the Moto X is one of the best Android devices available, despite its age? Motorola is holding a pretty killer offer on Monday, June 9, letting anyone interested in customizing their own no-contract Moto X to try at home for two weeks—and it'll only cost you one penny. How awesome is that?
The company's Try Then Buy offer is only being held on June 9, so you better mark it down on your calendar now. The hope is that you'll like your very own customized Moto X so much that you'll just wind up keeping it. If you decide to hang onto the device, you'll obviously be on the hook for the full amount, which is $399 without a contract. If not, you can just send the device back; no harm, no foul.
Even despite the arrival of the HTC One (M8), Galaxy S5 and LG G3, the Moto X is still one of the best devices available, especially for first-time smartphone buyers. It offers the strongest selection of smart tweaks, including Active Display and always-listening Google Now support, and a pretty slick design. Sure, it doesn't have a Full HD display, and you're only getting a 4.7-inch screen, but it still makes a compelling case for your pocket.
That said, Motorola is expected to release a Moto X successor later this summer, so we're cutting it really close here. If owning the latest and greatest isn't a concern, however, this deal (I guess it's not a deal so much as it is a kind of loaner program) is not bad at all. The offer is only available while quantities last, so better jump on it quick. If anything, you'll get to try out one of the coolest devices out there for just a penny.
The fine text reads that credit approval is required, as is a Deferred Interest Minimum Payment Required Promotional Plan, which will then charge your card once your two weeks is up.
