Motorola’s new Moto X is starting to arrive in the hands of AT&T customers who pre-ordered the device, and we have some good news for folks who opted for the carrier-free and unlocked version of the phone, too. The Moto X “Pure Edition” variant is shipping a few days ahead of schedule.

The news comes from GottaBeMobile, which says it’s heard from a few people that the Moto X Pure Edition is shipping today instead of on September 26 as expected. There’s no explanation for why, but we’re sure no one will be complaining when they get their new smartphone a few days early. The SIM-unlocked Moto X comes with an unlockable bootloader and should work on any GSM network including T-Mobile and AT&T.

If you loved last year’s Moto X, but wished it offered a bigger screen and a faster processor, Motorola heard you loud and clear. The new smartphone offers solid hardware and a spacious 5.2-inch display. You can also still use Moto Maker to design your own phone, and this time around the company has added leather back panels to the list of customization options.

Did you order a Moto X Pure Edition? If so, you might want to check to see if your unit shipped early, too.
