The Moto X could be just over a month away from hitting the market, according to a new leak that recently surfaced on Web forums. Android Central spotted a few images that sport a U.S. Cellular logo and suggest that the phone will launch in three waves on August 26 in U.S. Cellular destinations. Marketing materials to helps stores prepare for the unveiling are expected to arrive the day before, on August 25, according to the screen shots.
We’re not sure what “Wave 1, Wave 2 and Wave 3” mean particularly, though Android Central surmises that it could mean it will arrive in specific markets at first – likely those with 4G LTE coverage – before hitting other stores.
The Moto X will be manufactured in America in a Texas factory and will allow consumers to customize the color, add engravings and other features. The company hasn’t yet provided the press with all of the details on the phone, though we expect it will hold some sort of event before August 26 to disclose more information. Right now, though, we’re expecting it to land on all of the major U.S. wireless carriers. Eric Schmidt was recently spotted carrying the phone and there haven’t been any shortage of leaks, hopefully we know more soon.
