Motorola may not reveal its new smartwatch at IFA after all. The gadget-maker’s parent company, Lenovo, shared an invitation this morning for an event on September 8. The information was revealed via what looks like a pretty official Weibo account, though we’re still not totally convinced the new Moto 360 won’t pop up in Berlin this week.

The teaser shows the top half of the second-generation smartwatch along with the words “It’s Time,” which doesn’t leave much up for interpretation. There’s also some Chinese text at the bottom along with the Sept. 8 date. Of course, it’s possible this could be an invitation to a China specific event following a global unveiling at IFA this week.

We’re expecting Motorola to reveal at least two new smartwatch models, offering a small and large version of the new Moto 360. There’s also the rumored Moto 360 Sport, though that may not actually arrive until later this year. In the meantime, we’ve got some new information on the device thanks to Twitter tipster @upleaks.

The Moto 360 Sport actually looks pretty nice, though probably won’t be as sleek as Motorola’s other smartwatches. The image above also seems to suggest the company could finally get rid of that black bar along the bottom of the display, but it’s possible the actual device will still feature the same flat tire look.
