The first full-length trailer for Mortal Engines has arrived and it’s promising us a whole lot of city-sized insanity.

Movie trailers are coming at us at a rapid clip today with Bumblebee  and LEGO Movie 2 trailers also hitting. The latest is for the upcoming Mortal Engines, based on a series of novels of the same name. One quick note, despite Peter Jackson’s name being all over this trailer, he did not direct it. Directing duties fell to Christian Rivers who worked with Jackson on the Hobbit films.

For the whole story of what to expect:

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

Mortal Engines will hit theaters Dec. 14, 2018.
