Capcom’s major bread-winner these days is the Monster Hunter franchise, and while primarily seen as a portable franchise for the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita, the console iteration still remains a popular hang-out spot for hardcore fans. Monster Hunter Frontier, the MMORPG currently available on the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U, is now scheduled to be getting an updated version for the PlayStation 4.
Capcom has confirmed that it will be bringing the game to Sony’s current generation on Nov. 22 in Japan, and all of the additional content it will bring to the experience will be available in the older versions in an update on Nov. 9.
Unfortunately, Capcom has not confirmed a North American release for the game just yet. This remains just as evasive to North American shores as Square Enix’s MMORPG Dragon Quest X, so trust me Monster Hunter fans. I know your pain.
However, I don’t think I need to remind hardcore fans that there are ways around the IP check. Gamers will find a way to play the games they want. That’s a law of nature.
Monster Hunter Frontier Z will be available for the PlayStation 4 on Nov. 22.
