xenobladeJRPG developer Monolith Soft has always had along and productive relationship with Nintendo. After striking up a decent sized fanbase with the Xenosaga games on the PlayStation 2, they took their talents to the Gamecube and created the two Baten Kaitos games, representing a majority of the exclusive RPGs the Gamecube could ever brag about.

This past year, they struck big with the critically successful JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles, which finally got a released in America after a grassroots internet campaign forced Nintendo to bring it stateside. And now, they are currently working on an exclusive game for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console.

Nintendo revealed nothing about the game at their huge press conference earlier today, but Iwata announced the project will be helmed by Xenoblade director Tetsuya Takahashi, and it will be an original IP not based on any of Monolith's previous games.
