they would like to see made,

pre-orders began in February

, and the set arrived in our offices on June 14.  Not too bad of a turnaround to go from concept to realization if you ask us!

We’ve opened it up and taken pictures for you if you’ve been on the fence about picking one up, and we have to say, if you’re a Minecraft fan, then you’re definitely going to want one … and more.  The first thing I thought upon seeing it completed was, “… I need more of these for a bigger world.”  As you can see in the pictures, there are slots on the sides where you can put pegs to connect the sets together and form a larger a world, and I am so tempted to pick up three more sets now and make one large block.

The set is made up of a lot of one block pieces – which makes complete sense for this set – which can make it tedious to fill in some spots, but awesome at the same time as it allows you to customize a lot.  As you can see in one of the pictures below, there are some spare pieces if you want to make your world more unique and get away from what the instructions tell you to build.

It’s been ages since I built a Lego set, and mixing it with one of my favorite games made it that much more awesome.  It’s also funny due to the fact when our own Joey Davidson first was trying to get me to play Minecraft he described it to me as “Legos for the Internet.”  How right he was.

Take a peek through the gallery below, and get to building!
