Microsoft is reportedly preparing to announce its second generation Surface tablets during its Build Developer Conference in June.

The company is apparently preparing to launch the tablet with a screen size that measures between 7 inches and 9 inchesDigiTimes said Thursday. Component suppliers have allegedly already shipped enough parts for Microsoft's manufacturers to build between 1 million and 1.5 million Surface 2 units, which will run on Intel or NVIDIA processors, and that figure is in-line with reported sales for the original Surface devices.

DigiTimes said Microsoft has tapped Pegratron to build the smaller surface and that Samsung and LG will provide displays, Ju Teng will provide the chassis and the touch panels will ship from TPK and Youngfast.

Microsoft's Build conference kicks off on June 26, so we expect to hear more on the company's future Surface plans right around that date.
