Microsoft has revealed its September offering for the Games with Gold program – the games that accompany an Xbox Live subscription at no additional cost.

On the Xbox One side of things, subscribers will get access to the fabulous action side-scroller Super Time Force, a pixel art puzzle game that has you fighting through levels as a team, playing each character until they die, then rewinding the level so you can come back to fight alongside yourself. It’s a frantic, fun, and colorful action title that makes good use of the Xbox One’s recording functions. Super Time Force is available for the entire month of September as the sole Xbox One offering.

Xbox 360 users, on the other hand, get two games as usual.

From for the first half of the month, from September 1 – 15, you’ll be able to download Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine, an overhead game where you play as a team of Oceans 11-style heisters. This is a fun, great-looking title on its own, but this is an especially great choice for a free game, as it was built with multiplayer in mind. Giving it away at no cost accompanying multiplayer access will give gamers something to use their live account with and give owners of the game a whole new crowd to play it with.

Halo - Reach

From September 16 – 30, you’ll be able to get your hands on Halo: Reach, one of the prequel titles for the Halo series. This is a good way to prepare for the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection if you’re not worried about burning out on epicness before the collection hits Xbox One in November.

These three games make up a pretty colorful collection and provide good variety; this is one of the better Games with Gold collections we’ve yet seen. Xbox 360 games obtained through Games with Gold are added to your account regardless of whether you maintain an Xbox Live subscription or not, while Xbox One games from the program require that you retain your Xbox Live subscription.

I’m eagerly awaiting Super Time Force and looking forward to finally having some people to play Monaco with. Which games are you going to pick up?
