Microsoft Office 13 - iPad in Hand

The dream may finally become reality as a Microsoft executive has stated that Office will be arriving on iOS and Android in 2013.

Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek spoke with the press today in the Czech Republic and stated that native Microsoft Office apps will be coming to both iOS and Android in March 2013. According to the report from The Verge – which also states that it has seen a  press release – Office for iOS and Android will be released in addition to versions for Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS and, yes, even Symbian. The U.S. arm of Microsoft says that no retail availability for the new Office has been announced as of yet.

While there have been third-party apps to support the file types generated by Office on most mobile operating systems, there is something to be said for being able to work with native apps. No matter what your opinion of Office may be, there is no denying that the world of business lives off of it, and if you can now do your work on a tablet with all of the bells and whistles you're used to, we're all for it.
