If you were planning to pre-order a bunch of Xbox One launch games, the Microsoft store might be the place to do it.

From now until Nov. 22, Microsoft is giving out digital gift cards with pre-orders of a number of launch titles, as well as a few Xbox 360 games.

On Xbox One, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Need for Speed: Rivals, Just Dance 2014, NBA 2k14, NBA Live 14, and Madden 25 are all eligible, with the last two valid until their releases on Dec. 31 and the others until launch day. Xbox 360 has a couple of those – Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty – as well as Batman: Arkham Origins and South Park: The Stick of Truth in on the deal. Even some further-out games like the recently-delayed Watch Dogs and the open-world racing title The Crew are in there.

The fine print reads, “After you preorder, you’ll receive a promotional code at the email address associated with your purchase within 10 days of game being shipped. Use it by 01/31/14 to claim your $10 gift card code. Limit one (1) $10 gift card per qualifying Xbox One or Xbox 360 game purchased.”

The gift cards have a limited life span, but if you’re planning to preorder stacks on stacks of games, those $10 gift cards are with each game and could quickly amount to a free game. With every retail game also showing up on Xbox Live, it gets mighty tempting. They’re also offering free shipping, though it’s not clear if they have the same deal as Amazon that lands the game on your doorstep on release date.

There’s still more than enough time to shuffle around pre-orders if you want to get enough gift cards for a free game…or maybe just enough for Peggle 2.
