I’ve long since accepted that my childhood in the 80s and early 1990s was basically a series of advertisements disguised as cartoons. I even fondly remember quite a few commercials from that time, whether for fruit snacks and popsicles, board games, or action figures. Few advertisements, though, were as iconic as the Micro Machines advertisements featuring John “Motormouth” Moschitta Jr. To adults, he was the guy from the FedEx ads. For us kids, though, he was and always will be the Micro Machines Man. When Codemasters announced a new Micro Machines game earlier this year, Moschitta’s voice was in my head immediately. And now, it’s in my ears, too.

If doesn’t say Micro Machines, it’s not the real thing

Codemasters managed to bring back Moschitta to narrate the newest trailer for the upcoming Micro Machines World Series game. He’s not quite as motormouthed as he was back then, but there’s no doubt he’s the one and only. I left with a good impression of the game when I previewed it this spring, and I’d be lying if I said Moschitta’s voice didn’t get me hyped all over again to dive back into the tiny world of Micro Machines.

Micro Machines World Series hits PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 29.
