We’ve waited for so long. Through countless E3 presentations, through console launches, and through false starts. But now it’s real: Metroid Prime 4 is in development for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo confirmed as part of its online press conference today.

Nintendo isn’t really offering up much information right now – we know it’s in development, and that’s about it. We don’t have a release date or even a release time frame. No developer, no gameplay, no screenshots. But this is encouraging. Nintendo is listening to fans.

After the way Nintendo revitalized itself with the Switch and Zelda with Breath of the Wild, we’re excited to see what they can do with a new Metroid Prime game.

We’ll have more for you as the information rolls out.
