Put any thoughts of Capcom getting a little too serious for its own good in Dead Rising 3 to bed. When bikinis and bear costumes are not enough to convince the cynical of this game’s topsy-turvy sense of humor, just add a Mega Man costume and even the most jaded of Capcom fans, like yours truly, will drool in fanboy desire.
Protagonist Nick Ramos can don the power armor unlocked in the original SNES classic, Mega Man X. Not just for an aesthetic change, the included Mega Buster is fully operational and can blast away zombies by the dozens.
Classic Mega Man armor appeared in the original Dead Rising, which was developed by the Blue Bomber’s co-creator Keiji Inafune, and Dead Rising 2 offered up his brother Proto Man as an alternative costume. Mega Man X is clearly the way to go in Dead Rising 3, and perhaps Dead Rising 4 will feature fan-favorite Zero as a wearable armor. One can dream, can’t he?
Of course, the Servbots from Mega Man Legends are coming back as well. What is it with Mega Man and Dead Rising, anyway?
The Mega Man X armor can be unlocked after beating the game once. Dead Rising 3 will be released as an Xbox One launch game next week on Nov. 22.
