Capcom has succeeded in reigning in one of the last of its white unicorns to the PlayStation Network. Once nothing but a mere dream, an ESRB leak now hints that an incoming release of Mega Man Legends 2 on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita could be a reality.

The game will join both The Misadventures of Tron Bonne and Mega Man Legends, closing out a trilogy that many fans had all but given up on ever seeing again. At last, this beloved sub-series can be enjoyed in full through the powers of digital distribution.

Let’s not forget, it is part of a larger push from Capcom to cement the legacy of Mega Man through digital channels.

With Mega Man Legends 2 taken care of, Mega Man X6 remains the last of the PSOne-era Mega Man games that has not yet been rereleased. Capcom has stated that the demand for this game is not nearly as high as the Mega Man Legends games, and a song in the soundtrack has some licensing issues. However, with the miracles we’ve seen as of late, I’m willing to believe anything is possible.

Nothing official yet, so we’ll let you know when Capcom confirms. Until then, we’ll see you on the moon, Mega Man!
